Maintenance Of "Prins" System

When you drive on LPG, maintaining your car is even more important than when using petrol. Since the specifications of LPG differ from those of petrol, minor engine problems which won't disturb the driving comfort while using petrol may cause major problems while using LPG. Follow the maintenance instructions in order to use LPG without any problem.
- General maintenance to the car regarding spark plugs, spark plug cables, ignition circuit, valves, etc., has to be carried out according to the instructions of the car manufacturer.
- Proof of maintenance according to the guidelines of the (completely filled in maintenance booklet).
- Maintenance has to be carried out by a dealer authorised by the importer.
- Review and repair your Prins LPG system should be carried out in accordance with standards of the COP 11

MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR LPG SYSTEMS
Check the following during each service:
- Check the gas filters for pollution. Replace the filter after the first 15.000 miles; after this, every 45.000 miles (or every 2 years!).
- Check the hoses for proper connections, rubbing and kinks (LPG, fuel and water hoses).
- Check the connectors.
- Check the ground connections.
- Check the fastening of all parts.
- Check for LPG leakage near the LPG reservoir, LPG shut-off valve and evaporator.
- Check for LPG leakage between evaporator, filter unit and injector rail.
- Check the tightening torque of the 6 Allen screws of the reducer. The Allen screws should be tightened with a torque of 8 Nm. If necessary re-tighten the Allen screws. WARNING: Tighten the Allen screws and NOT the 'tensilock-nuts'.
- Check for fuel leakage.
- Check the functioning of the fuel level sensor.
- Check the emission control by means of a 4tester or a Prins Autogassystemen B.V. diagnosis tester.
- Check and readjust the system pressure by using a Prins Autogassystemen B.V. diagnosis tester.
- Check for 'false air'.
- Read out trouble codes and adaptive value memory for petrol and LPG mode by means of an OBD scan tool.
- Make a test ride on petrol and LPG.
